Nick Saban and the Alabama Crimson Tide avenged last year’s final four blowout loss to Ohio State as they rolled over the Michigan State Spartans last night 38-0 in the Cotton Bowl.
Meanwhile in the 4:00 semi-final game, the Clemson Tigers, despite being the number one team in the country, entered as four point underdogs to Big 12 champion Oklahoma. The Tigers overcame an early deficit to soundly beat the Oklahoma Sooners 37-17 in the Orange Bowl to advance to the national championship.
Alabama and Clemson will now face off against each other in the National Championship game. Alabama is seeking its fourth national title under Nick Saban and Clemson is looking for its second national title in school history—their first coming back in 1981.
