Attorney General Michelle Henry has announced a new amendment to better protect consumers when purchasing a car.
Henry announced late last week that all dealerships will be required to inspect each motor vehicle with 30 days it enters their inventory for certain unsafe conditions and vehicles with over 500 miles will require additional service before sale.
Dealers will also have to know disclose if any unsafe conditions have been found in the car such as flood damage or a bent frame. This also applies to vehicles being sold “as is.”
