The Pittsburgh Penguins fell to the New York Rangers 5-2 last night at PPG Paints Arena. The Pens scored the opening two goals, then allowed five unanswered goals to the Rangers. Goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury stopped only 31 of 35 shots on goal, as the Pens fell four points behind the Rangers in the Metropolitan Division. Rookie forward Jake Guentzel made his NHL debut and joined Robby Brown as the only players in franchise history to score two goals in the first game in a Penguins uniform. Guentzel replaced Chris Kunitz who was placed on injured reserve Monday with an injury. The Pens visit the Rangers at Madison Square Garden Wednesday. Three of the Pens next four games are on the road.
