The nurses at Armstrong County Memorial Hospital are set to strike this weekend.
Nurses overwhelmingly rejected the hospital’s latest contract offer that they say only offered slight changes compared to previous offers.
Now, nurses say they will walk off the job at 6:45 a.m. Sunday and will remain on strike until Friday, March 18th.
They say the hospital “is refusing to invest in effective nursing retention efforts.” More than 40 nurses have left the ACMH in the past year, and have taken other jobs for higher pay according to nurses.
Nurses say they remain open to talks with hospital management.
