While Fall brings crisp temperatures, changing leaves, and warm drinks—it also brings back allergy season.
And this Fall, AccuWeather is projecting that there could be even more sneezing and itchy eyes compared to previous years.
They are predicting that allergy season will reach its peak in the area around late September.
“Allergies really happen all year round, and the fall is different than spring and summer,” Chief Medical Officer at WebMD Dr. John Whyte said to AccuWeather. “What we see in the fall are allergies to ragweed. It blooms between August and November, so we kind of see that peak pollen actually [occur in] mid- to late September.”
Mold and dust mites are the two allergy triggers this time of year. AccuWeather says that piles of damp leaves are breeding grounds for mold and dust mites begin to stir as temperatures drop.
