A portion of the Turnpike was closed yesterday after a crash near the Cranberry interchange.
Crews were to the eastbound lane of the Turnpike just before 3 p.m. near mile marker 26, which is in between the Butler and Cranberry exits.
Details on the crash are not clear, but there was at least one person who was entrapped and seriously injured.
A medical helicopter was called; it landed on the highway, which also forced a portion of I-79 Southbound to close.
Crews were able to get both highways reopened after 4 p.m.
