High School Sports
Girls Basketball:
–AC Valley defeated Otto-Eldred 56-52 last night in the District-9 semifinals. The Lady Falcons will now meet North Clarion for the 1A championship.
–Mars fell 48-44 to Oakland Catholic last night in the WPIAL 5A semifinals. The Planets overcame a 34-20 halftime deficit to tie the score 38-38 late in the third quarter, but couldn’t pull out the win.
Boys Basketball:
–Pine-Richland defeated Woodland Hills 65-61 last night to reach the WPIAL 6A championship game. The Rams improved to 20-5 overall, and will meet Penn Hills in an attempt to win their third consecutive league title. Penn Hills eliminated Mt. Lebanon 69-66 in overtime in the other semifinal last night.
