Gas prices in Butler continued to inch upward over the past week, according to AAA’s weekly gas price report.
The average price for a gallon of regular, unleaded, self-serve gas in Butler this week is $2.73, which is an increase over last week of one cent.
As for western Pennsylvania as a whole, prices are averaging $2.79 per gallon, with a high of $2.86 in Kittanning and a low of $2.68 in New Castle, according to AAA.
The national price of gas jumped another eight cents since last week to $2.62, which comes out to nearly a quarter more expensive than last month.
With the weather warming up, demand is expected to increase with prices expected to follow suit.
