For the first time in three weeks, gas prices in western Pennsylvania have decreased in the last week.
According to AAA’s weekly gas price report, the average price for a gallon of regular, unleaded, self-serve in Butler is $3.09 per gallon. That’s seven cents cheaper than last week.
As for western Pennsylvania as a whole, prices are about two cents cheaper this week averaging $3.08 per gallon. The cheapest gas in the area can be found in Altoona at $2.90 per gallon, while the most expensive is $3.16 in Kittanning.
Though prices have been declining nationally, several factors could push the cost of gasoline back up again including the weather, the impact of Chinese tariffs, or the volume of Memorial Day weekend travel. Today’s national average is the same price as one year ago.
