Gas prices have declined slightly this week both locally as well as across western Pennsylvania as a whole.
According to AAA’s weekly gas price report, the average price for a gallon of regular, unleaded, self-serve gas in Butler, as of Monday, dropped by six cents over the past week to $3.50 per gallon.
The average gas price across western Pennsylvania as a whole fell by a cent during that same time to reach $3.55. The most affordable average price for gas in the area can be found in Brookville at $3.40 per gallon, while the most expensive is $3.60 in Bradford and Warren.
The average national gas price dropped by three cents over the past week to $3.30 which is 11 cents less than last month but over a dollar more than last year. According to AAA, gasoline demand has surged leading up to holiday travel but the declining price of crude oil has helped to keep prices at the pump in check.
