With Butler Area School District students beginning classes this week, now is a good time for local motorists to observe increased caution.
According to AAA, speed is a crucial factor is saving lives of students, especially in school zones. Drivers are asked to eliminate distractions while driving, stay alert for pedestrians or bikes, and do not drive around buses.
Butler elementary students will begin classes on Tuesday while students in 6th through 12th grade will have a staggered approach to start the year.
Intermediate High School Soft Start
- Grade 6: Sept. 7 – full day (No school on 9/6)
- Grade 7: Sept. 7 – full day (No school on 9/6)
- Grade 8: Sept. 6 – half day from 7:30-11 am (No school on 9/7)
Senior High School Soft Start
- Grade 9: Sept. 7 – full day (No school on 9/6)
- Grade 10: Sept. 7 – full day (No school on 9/6, except Vo-Tech students)
- Grade 11: Sept. 6 – half day from 7:37-11 am with Vo-Tech dismissal at 12 pm (No school on 9/7, except Vo-Tech students)
- Grade 12: Sept. 6 – half day from 7:37 -11 am with Vo-Tech dismissal at 12 pm (No school on 9/7, except Vo-Tech students)
- Vo-Tech students should report to Vo-Tech on September 6 & 7
