2022 was a difficult year for many people in many different ways including motorists who had to deal with collisions, weather, and other distractions related to auto insurance claims.
According to AAA, the top three categories of claims in our region include minor rear-end fender-benders which can be caused by distracted driving and end up costing thousands in damages and premium increases.
Another common claim category in our region last year was collisions that occur when backing up a vehicle with many occurring in parking lots or driveways. Motorists are advised to take time and pay attention.
Collisions involving birds or animals can also be quite expensive but can be avoided by paying attention to road signs, keeping eyes on the road, resist the urge to swerve, and use high beams when there is no oncoming traffic.
