A man was seriously injured after his car crashed into a Jackson Township business overnight.
Jackson Township Police Officer Tim Amrhein said the car was traveling northbound on Route 19 at 3:30 a.m. when the driver lost control, traveled across the southbound lanes, slid through the parking lot and then crashed into the USA Coatings building.
The car didn’t end up inside the building but rather a steel beam stopped it in his tracks.
“It hit the building pretty hard,” Officer Amrhein said. “There is a good bit of damage.”
The man was flown to UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh. His name has not been released.
No one else was hurt and there was no one inside USA Coatings at the time of the crash.
An investigation into why the man crashed is underway.
