Volunteers will be working at the Institute Hill Playground Saturday morning.
“We plan for a pavilion,” Dennis Baglier said. “We’re also going to put in a parking area with handicapped parking, a walkway that will tie it all together, and new equipment that will encompass the swings as well as slides. We’re also going to replace all the fencing around the park and repair the sidewalks.”
Dennis Baglier is one of the members of Butler PM Rotary, who is working on the project to give the playground an upgrade. Volunteers will be gathering Saturday at 9 a.m.
Rotary members have also been trying to raise the $100,000 necessary for the project as explained by Jim Ferguson.
“The paver bricks that we will be selling that anybody can purchase will be for $75,” Ferguson said. “They can state on there anything they want.”
Checks or money orders can be made out to Butler Rotary Foundation and sent to P.O. Box 1081 Butler, PA 16003.
