The county will recognize local residents who have voted in fifty consecutive general elections.
Butler County Bureau of Elections Director Shari Brewer says her office sent out about 200 notices to residents this week inviting them to be elected into the state’s “Voter Hall of Fame.”
A local celebration will be held in June at the Tanglewood Center in Lyndora. If a resident thinks they meet the requirements but doesn’t receive a notice in the next week, you’re asked to contact the Butler bureau at 724-284-5309.
Brewer says her office is offering leeway to voters who missed an election or two during the Vietnam-era.
