A three-CD package called Genuine: The Alan Jackson Story, will be released exclusively at Walmart on Friday, November 6th. The special compilation features 59 songs drawn from all phases of Alan’s career at Arista Nashville. It also features eight previously unreleased tracks including a live version of The Eagles‘ hit “Seven Bridges Road,” recorded in Birmingham, Alabama on November 1, 1997, and a rare live rendition of “The Star Spangled Banner,” recorded in 2001.
Alan was the first artist signed to the newly-formed Arista Nashville imprint in 1989. During his tenure at Arista Nashville, he recorded 50 Top 10 hits, 35 of which went to Number One on the country charts. Twenty-six of those were Billboard Number Ones.
Alan celebrated his 25th anniversary as a recording artist with a special 25-date tour and was honored with “Alan Jackson: 25 Years of Keepin’ It Country,” a retrospective exhibit at Nashville’s Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum. In July of this year, Alan released his 15th studio album, Angels and Alcohol.
Genuine: The Alan Jackson Story comes with an exclusive booklet featuring tributes to Alan and his music offered by the likes of Kenny Chesney, Alison Krauss, Martina McBride, George Strait, Steven Tyler, Carrie Underwood, Lee Ann Womack, and the late George Jones. A special poster is also included, featuring a panoramic shot of the entire visual exhibit from “Alan Jackson: 25 Years of Keepin’ It Country.”
