The Butler Area School District has reached a new contract with a small group of employees.
The Butler School Board approved a deal Monday night with food service workers who are employees of the district. The agreement goes into effect July 1, 2019 and will continue for five years with employees receiving a 40 cent increase per hour.
The district currently has only about 25 employees who are affected by this contract since all food service employees who have been hired since 2016 are not employees of the district but rather employees of the company handling food service at the district, which is The Nutrition Group.
