Butler Township will likely be getting more businesses at a busy shopping plaza in the near future.
The Butler Township Planning Commission gave their approval at a meeting Tuesday to a plan by Cedarwood Development to build a new structure on a currently vacant lot at the Butler Crossing plaza.
The building will be constructed on 2.6 acres behind Applebees and house six tenants. Negotiations about who those tenants will be are ongoing but at least one will be a restaurant.
If approved by the Butler Township commissioners at their next meeting, construction is likely to begin in late winter or early spring.
