The Pittsburgh Pirates fell to the visiting Cincinnati Reds Saturday night by a final of 3-1.
In starting pitcher AJ Burnett’s final regular season start of his career, the Pirates could not generate enough run support to overcome a Cincinnati two run first inning.
Fans and both teams gave Burnett a standing ovation when he left the game with two outs in the sixth. He finished the game with nine strikeouts.
The Pirates will close out the 2015 Regular Season this afternoon against the Reds in a game where a Pirates’ win is needed to keep their chances alive of hosting the Wildcard game on Wednesday night against the Cubs.
You can catch all of today’s action, starting with pregame coverage on WISR 680AM. Today’s first pitch will be around 3:15pm.
