Opening night for the 2015-16 season of the Butler County Symphony Orchestra is this weekend.
The performance at Butler Intermediate High School begins at 7:30 p.m. Saturday but a pre-concert lecture with music director Matthew Kraemer starts at 6:30.
This first show is titled Music with a Conscience featuring pianist Cahill Smith with selections from Shostakovich, Rossini and Mozart. This season of concerts is called The Power of Music and features a wide variety of music genres.
