Lauren Alaina releases her self-titled EP today (Friday, October 2nd). All five songs on the collection, including her new single, “Next Boyfriend,” were co-written by the singer.
Lauren’s debut album, Wildflower, was released almost exactly four years ago. This is her first new music since then, and she tells us a lot has changed between that project and the one she’s working on now. [“The first album I recorded so quickly and I didn’t get to write it, and I’m very proud of it but it’s just not the same thing for me. This one is more personal and told in my own words, and I think that I feel so much more confident in it. I feel so much more proud and more ready to share, and also kind of scared to share it because it’s more personal, so I’m really excited about it. I think that people are really gonna get to know me so much more with this music.”] SOUNDCUE (:37 OC: . . . with this music.)
The EP is a teaser for Lauren’s upcoming sophomore release, which will likely be out sometime next year.
One of the five songs on the EP, called “History,” was recorded for ESPN as an exclusive promo track for the network’s college football coverage. She also co-wrote the song “Road Less Traveled” with pop star Meghan Trainor.
