Slippery Rock High School has been named a National Blue Ribbon School by the U.S. Department of Education.
The Blue Ribbon program evaluates a school over five years. Institutions that either have a high learning standard or have made notable improvements are recognized. Slippery Rock was the only Butler County school district on the list of 335 schools.
The time period examined was between 2010 and 2015. Before 2010, Slipper Rock’s test scores were not among the best in the region but have steadily climbed.
