Local volunteer fire departments and EMS should apply for a grant program now accepting applications.
According to PA State Senator Scott Hutchinson, the Volunteer Fire Company and Volunteer Ambulance Service Grant Program will award a total of $25 million.
The maximum grant for a fire company is $15,000 while ambulance services could receive up to $10,000. Grants can be used for construction or renovation of a station as well as the purchase or repair of equipment, training, or debt reduction.
