Local residents should be aware of yet another phone scam.
According to Butler Township Police, a resident reported receiving a phone call on Monday from a number that showed up on caller ID as coming from PNC Bank.
The caller said the resident’s credit card was compromised and asked the resident to provide personal information. The resident did not provide that information.
The phone number was not a local number but still showed up on caller ID as PNC Bank. Police advise residents to not provide personal information over the phone to callers who cannot verify their identity, regardless of what the caller ID shows.
