The Cranberry Township Community Chest has received a $100,000 donation from Pirates Charities for their Project of the Year.
The project is a new fully-accessible playground in Graham Park. Work to resurface the neighboring Miracle League baseball field will also be done. The field is part of the Miracle League of Southwestern Pennsylvania, which provides developmentally disabled children the chance to play baseball. The new playground will be designed for use by children of all abilities.
About $450,000 still needs to be raised for the project. A variety of fundraising activities will be held throughout the rest of the year and next.
