Butler School District administrators believe they are getting closer to isolating and eliminating transportation problems.
During a school board meeting Monday, officials heard from at least four parents who were unhappy with the state of transportation at Butler schools so far this year.
The board also heard from Superintendent Dr. Dale Lumley and Transportation Director Brenda Collins who detailed the reasons behind some of the problems that have been occurring. Many new routes and stops have led to some confusion by the drivers of bus contractor Valley Lines.
Lumley estimates that problems remain for about 5-10 buses out of 127 buses operating for the district.
The district is going to be advertising in the next week or so for a new transportation director and secretary as those positions will be open in November.
