The unofficial candidate list is set for the upcoming May primary election- and a majority of countywide races feature candidates running unopposed.
Current Butler County Commissioners Leslie Osche, Kim Geyer and Kevin Boozel have no primary challengers.
There are also no challengers for current District Attorney Rich Goldinger; Treasurer Diane Marbuger; Register of Wills Sarah Edwards; and Recorder of Deeds Michele Mustello.
There are competitive county races for prothonotary and Common Pleas Court judge.
County judicial candidates in the primary include Matthew Fischer, William Robinson, Terri Schultz, Nicole Thurner and Jennifer Gilliland Vanasdale.
Current county Prothonotary Glenna Walters is retiring and three candidates would like her job- Kelly Ferrari and Paula Painter are both running for the Republican nomination. Daniel Smith Jr. is running for the Democratic nomination.
