Butler Township could see the construction of a new auto parts store sometime later this year.
Engineering consultants representing O’Reilly Auto Parts presented their plans to the Butler Township Zoning Hearing Board during a meeting Wednesday to request a special exception for a comparable use not specifically listed.
O’Reilly would like to purchase two parcels of land across from the New Castle Road entrance to the Butler Senior High School. The properties were previously used for a car lot and a dentist office. The over 7,000-square foot building would have two entrances and 12 employees.
The Zoning Hearing Board approved the request for special exception but that ruling can be appealed within 30 days.
O’Reilly reps say they do not have a specific timeline yet for this project but could submit a land development plan to the township and PennDOT sometime in April.
