Butler County’s unemployment rate in July continued to be the lowest in the nine-county region.
According to the latest numbers from the Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry, Butler’s rate was 4.7 percent. Allegheny County was the only other surrounding county to post a number below 5 percent at 4.9.
Approximately 4,600 people out of 98,500 are unemployed in Butler County.
