ESPN has chosen Lauren Alaina to create a track exclusively for this season’s college football coverage. Lauren and Imagine Dragons were the only two artists chosen to contribute brand new recordings for ESPN and its college football promotion. Anticipation ahead of the college football season is at an all-time high this year. Given the cable tv statistics source here show ESPN is the third most popular network, the station will be hoping college football can secure its highest ever viewership across this exciting new season. Clearly, ESPN are going all out to entice viewers by securing two of the biggest and best artist around!
Lauren co-wrote a song called “History” specifically for the sports network, which will be used in promotions across all platforms for the top college football matchups each week. The track will also be used as a central part of the campaign building towards the College Football Playoff (CFP) semifinals on New Year’s Eve and the CFP National Championship on January 11, 2016.
Lauren said, “For a southern girl, college football is everything. I am so pumped to have my song used for ESPN’s college football coverage. Thank you ESPN for giving me something to make my boyfriend, dad, and brother think I’m that much cooler!”
The former American Idol finalist is expected to release a new single to Country radio in September.
