A Philadelphia man could spend the next decade in prison for shooting a man in Butler City two years ago.
A judge sentenced 28-year-old Hassan Lamar Ray Brack Wednesday to serve 5 to 10 years in prison. A trial was about to begin for Brack when he decided to enter into a plea agreement.
Authorities allege Brack shot then 25-year-old Brannon Irvin in the chest in August of 2013 while he was riding in a vehicle that was stopped at a red light at the intersection of East Cunningham and South McKean streets. The shot hit Irvin point blank in the chest. He did survive.
