State police have released updated information about the head-on collision that left three people dead in Armstrong County early Sunday.
The two-vehicle crash happened around 3 a.m. on Route 28/66 in Manor Township when police say that a vehicle driven by 46-year-old Gregory Johns of Worthington was traveling north in the southbound lane.
Johns’ vehicle struck a vehicle driven by 21-year-old Alex Davis of McGrann. Johns, Davis, and a passenger in Davis’ car, 27-year-old Francis Danahey Jr. of Verona, were pronounced dead at the scene. A second passenger in Davis’ vehicle survived.
The investigation into why Johns was traveling the wrong way continues.
