The City of Butler Parks, Recreation Grounds and Facilities Authority is interested in taking over responsibility of the Butler City Farmers Market.
Since the city owns the facility through the Parks Department, there is not anticipated to be any expense having to do with upkeep. By finding sponsors and charging vendors, officials believe the Farmers Market could become an additional source of revenue for the Authority.
The Main Street revitalization organization Butler Downtown has had responsibility over the Farmers Market in the recent past.
Butler City Council will need to vote on this request in order for the change to be finalized- which could happen at their next meeting on Thursday.
