The Butler County Housing Authority has named a new chief executive officer.
Edward Mauk of Pittsburgh has served as Chief Financial Officer for Pittsburgh’s Housing Authority since 2007. He will now lead both the Housing Authority of the County of Butler and its sister agency, the Redevelopment Authority of the County of Butler. The two agencies unanimously approved a five-year agreement with Mauk at a joint board meeting Monday. He will start in September and be paid $135,000. He will relocate to Butler County.
The appointment was made after what was an “extensive search by a national recruitment firm specializing in executive leadership for public housing and redevelopment agencies.”
Former Executive Director Perry O’Malley was fired back in March after the board accused him of using public resources for personal and private business endeavors. O’Malley continues to deny wrongdoing.
