Bristol Motor Speedway is the site for the Saturday’s night Nascar race, the fourth short-track event of the 2015 Sprint Cup Series. Matt Kenseth, the hottest driver on the circuit, returns as the favorite having won two of the last four races, including the spring race at the track earlier this season. Jeff Gordon will make his 46th and final start at the speedway on Saturday night driving his iconic rainbow colored throwback paint scheme. As part of the celebration of Gordon’s career at Bristol, artist Sam Bass has designed a special program cover and the track will hold a salute to the five time winner on lap 24 with specially designed rally towels.
The X-Finity race is tonight at Bristol. Ryan Blaney, who captured Wednesday’s truck race, is the defending winner.
Just two nights of Fab Four Racing remain at Lernerville Speedway including tonight. Racing begins at the Action Track at 7:30pm. Alex Ferree extended his point lead to 70 over Mike Pegher, Jr. last week. A.J. Flick leads Brandon Matus by 19 points in the Sprints. Mat Williamson is 87 points up in the Modified chase. Corey McPherson is leading Jim Fosnaught by 38 points in the Sportsman class.
Mercer Raceway Park will host the sixth running of the Auto Racers for Kids charity event this Saturday. Added money goes to the winner in the track’s six divisions, including a $3,000-to-win Sprint Car race. The program was postponed from June 13 due to inclement weather.
