A local hospital is making changes to a program for expectant mothers who are uninsured or under-insured.
Butler Health System is incorporating their Maternal Service Program into their other OB/GYN Services beginning in October.
The program was started in 1990 to help meet the needs of women not able to receive needed pre-natal care.
The hospital will continue to support women without insurance through help with applying for government medical assistance or the Charity Care program.
Women currently in the program who will deliver after September 30th can choose to continue their care either with Advanced OB/GYN Associates or BHS Women’s Care Associates. Each of these obstetrics programs has three locations around the Butler County area.
