High winds on Sunday could cause problems across Butler County, including downed trees and power lines.
The National Weather Service office in Pittsburgh will put a High Wind Watch in effect from Sunday morning through Monday morning, as west winds of 25 to 35 miles per hour are expected, with gusts up to 60 miles per hour.
“The strongest winds are expected Sunday morning through Sunday evening,” according to the NWS. “Strong winds may blow down limbs, trees, and power lines. Scattered power outages are possible.”
A High Wind Watch means there is the potential for a hazardous high wind event. Sustained winds of at least 40 mph, or gusts of 58 mph or stronger, may occur.
