Kenny Chesney‘s father has landed in hot water after allegedly assaulting his neighbor with a golf club and his fists. The Knoxville News Sentinel reports that Dave Chesney was arrested on Tuesday (August 18th) and charged with aggravated assault.
Jonathan Matthew Jones, president of the local homeowners’ association, reportedly confronted Chesney for “repeatedly allowing his dog to roam unleashed on the club’s grounds.” Claiborne County Sheriff’s Chief Deputy Wayne Lee said Chesney hit Jones with a golf club several times, in addition to hitting him in the face with his fist. Jones’ glasses were knocked off and Chesney allegedly
“stomped” on them.
Chesney was also charged with vandalism under $500. As of last night, he was being held at the Claiborne County Jail and is scheduled to be arraigned this morning (Wednesday, August 19th).
