Butler Area School District is spending some of the money collected in athletic activity fees so far this year.
At their meeting Monday night, the school board gave approval to the purchase of a John Deere Gator Electric utility vehicle, 40 sideline chairs and a chair caddie, and a Sports Cool Power Tank with cart. The board also signed off on purchase of three cameras to be installed at the stadium to improve security.
The total amount of money spent on those items is almost $19,000 of a little over $24,000 that has been collected and deposited in the fund.
The items are expected to be purchased immediately and be ready for use at the start of school, if not sooner.
