The Armstrong County Prison Board plans to hire an outside firm to investigate the events leading up to last month’s inmate escape.
Three firms were asked to submit proposals to conduct the investigation. County officials say they want everything looked at- policies, procedures and personnel.
38-year-old Robert Crissman left the jail July 30th while performing duties as a trusty. A trusty is an inmate without a violent past who performs jobs at the jail including mowing the lawn and painting. The trusty program has been suspended since the escape.
