If you weren’t paying attention to the weekend weather forecast, you might have been surprised to see some white, fluffy stuff flying around Sunday evening.
Big snowflakes started falling in Butler County on Sunday evening, leaving behind one to two inches in most parts of the county by early Monday.
Temperatures were right around the freezing mark of 32 degrees to start Monday, which could cause problems throughout the morning.
“A brief period of light freezing rain is possible Monday morning,” according to the National Weather Service Pittsburgh office.
A mixture of rain and snow is possible Monday night, with a low around 34 expected.
A lot of rain is forecasted for Tuesday.
“Locally heavy rainfall late Monday and Tuesday could result in localized flooding. If this potential increases, a flood watch may be needed. In addition, wind gusts of 40 to 45 mph are possible late Tuesday night and Wednesday,” according to the NWS.
