The funeral for Lynn Anderson will take place on Wednesday (August 5th) in Nashville at Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home (660 Thompson Lane). Services will begin at 11 a.m.
Anderson died on Thursday (July 30th) night of a heart attack in Nashville at the age of 67. She is best known for her 1970 hit “(I Never Promised You a) Rose Garden.”
After news of Anderson’s death was released, several country stars reacted to the news on social media. Martina McBride tweeted, “Just heard the sad news about Lynn Anderson. I was lucky enough to sing with her once on the @Opry. RIP Lynn…..”
Dolly Parton told The Tennessean that Anderson was “blooming on God’s ‘Rose Garden’ now. We will miss her and remember her fondly.”
Tim McGraw posted a video of himself warming up before a concert to her signature hit.
Throughout her 40-year career, Anderson earned two Academy of Country Music Awards, one Grammy Award, one American Music Award, one Billboard Award and one People’s Choice Award, to name a few.
Anderson is survived by her father Casey Anderson; her longtime partner Mentor Williams; three children; and four grandchildren.
