The Butler BlueSox made a statement last night that they were not going down easy, pounding 20 hits in defeating Richmond 11-1. The Sox gained a game on first-place Chillicothe and are now 3-1/2 games behind with seven games remaining. Chillicothe fell to Champion City 4-3 last night, so their magic number remains at four. David Marcus went 4-for-4 and drove in three runs. Marcus hit his ninth home run of the season and is now dominating the Triple Crown categories.
The Sox will host Champion City tonight at 6:35pm. It is a Miller Lite T-Shirt giveaway night. Tomorrow Butler will host Kokomo for the final Fireworks night of the season.
