It’s the third day in a row Central Electric Cooperative has issued a ‘Peak Alert.’
CEC customers are asked to conserve energy Thursday, especially between noon and 6 p.m.
You’re asked to do so by turning off all non-essential electric items especially lighting, dehumidifiers, pool pumps and setting your air conditioner to a minimum of 78 degrees.
Officials say if the co-op can reduce electricity purchased during high-demand periods, it helps keep energy costs stable for all members.
The cooperative serves a portion of Butler County.
