The Chillicothe Paints defeated the Butler BlueSox 9-3 last night in the Prospect League. The Paints scored seven runs in the fourth and fifth innings to put the game out of reach. BlueSox first baseman David Marcus had three hits and improved his batting average to .369 as he attempts to complete the Prospect League batting Triple Crown. The loss put the BlueSox 4-1/2 games behind Chillicothe with a week to play in the Eastern Division second half. Chillicothe’s magic number to clinch a playoff spot is four with eight games remaining in the season. Butler will visit Richmond tonight. The Sox return home for two games Friday and Saturday. They have four home games remaining.
