The Pittsburgh Pirates completed a two-game sweep of the Minnesota Twins following a 10-4 victory Wednesday afternoon. Shortstop Jung Ho Kang had three hits to lead the Bucs, and hit a solo home run for the second straight day. Andrew McCutchen had two hits and drove in three runs. Neil Walker, Francisco Cervelli and Aramis Ramirez each had two hits. Francisco Liriano won his seventh game of the season, allowing two earned runs while pitching into the sixth inning.
The Cincinnati Reds shut-out the St. Louis Cardinals for the second consecutive night last night. The Pirates are now 4-1/2 games behind the Cards in the N.L. Central. The Bucs visit the Reds for four games beginning tonight. First pitch is 7:10pm. Pregame on WISR 680am is 6:45pm.
Outfielder Gregory Polanco left the game with knee discomfort and is day-to-day.
