Today has officially been named ‘Paul Gaudino Day’ in the City of Butler.
The Butler native has produced the exercise program “The Paul Gaudino Show” for over 30 years. It was first filmed at Armstrong Cable studios and then later from inside his Butler home.
He holds the record for the longest running fitness show in the world with the Guiness Book of World Records. It first began in April 1971 when Paul was in his 30s. He’s now in his 80s.
The Butler County Commissioners recognized Paul with a proclamation during Wednesday’s meeting. Butler City Mayor Tom Donaldson also dedicated Wednesday to Paul.
“The bottom line is I wanted to quit so many times because it was tough, but I didn’t because I got so much encouragement from people in this county,” Gaudino said Wednesday. “And here I am…life begins at 80!”
The show is currently broadcast on television, cable, webcast, satellite and Youtube.
He plans to retire this year and move to Florida.
