Butler County will receive a $25,000 grant from PennDOT to facilitate DUI checkpoints next year.
The one-year grant will reimburse municipal police departments for their extra work in conducting both full DUI checkpoints and roving DUI patrols. Officials say locations for roving patrols are determined by statistics from PennDOT on past DUI crashes and incidents.
The Butler County District Attorney’s DUI Task Force heads the program.
