The Butler BlueSox split a pair of games with the Chillicothe Paints Tuesday. Chillicothe won the first game 4-3. Butler winning the nightcap 13-3. The Sox scored 11 runs in the sixth and seventh innings of game two. Butler starting pitcher Tyler Slepski went six innings in the second game and improved his record to 5-1 this season. Butler remains 3-1/2 games behind first-place Chillicothe in the Prospect League Eastern Division with just over a week to go in the regular season. The Paints host the BlueSox tonight.
Butler second baseman Tyler Sullivan was named the Prospect League Player of the Week Tuesday. Sullivan had 11 hits and scored eight runs last week.
