All nine public school districts in Butler County, and most, if-not-all private schools, closed their doors for the second day in a row on Thursday due to the extreme cold.
The local colleges followed suit as well– Butler County Community College, Slippery Rock University and Grove City College all have their campuses closed.
Several community events are also closed due to the cold– including the Butler Meals on Wheels program and the Butler County Senior Centers. The full list of cancellations are available here.
